Backing up & Restoring Files & Folders To New Computer

I may need to get a new computer. I use Acronis True Image to backup my computer. Acronis can restore backups to disks with a different geometry. But any new machine I get will not support running Windows 7, only Windows 10. So I can't restore my Acronis Windows 7 backed up files/folders to it (assume for the moment that I would not be able to connect the old/new computers for some kind of direct file copy/transfer.)

Has anyone had this issue and can offer suggestions?
    Thank you

Make an image of current windows 7 as a backup in case there is an issue with the "upgrade".

Then "upgrade" the currently installed win7 . On an intel 2nd gen machine, upgrade to win10.

On your new machine you could either transfer the Hd which is now running 10 or clone it to the new hd/ssd/nvme on your new machine.

If you are not going to transfer the existing disk to the new machine, I suggest the free version of diskgenius to "clone" to a new storage device. It is called Os Migration.

Then on the new machine you could "upgrade" win10 to win11 if you fancy it, or win12 whenever that arrives.
