Asking for password after factory restore. Nothing working!!

    Hello everyone! First time here.
I have an older Gateway running 7 and after years of good service it was starting to take a long time to boot up. After a few attempts at cleaning things up I went mad and did a factory restore. I have my three Gateway recovery disks so I thought all was good.
But, it is not so. After the restore the system asks me for a password at startup. The one I used to login isn't working. I've tried several things like telling it to boot off of my recovery disks and a couple other hints I found online. It always comes back to asking me for a password! It doesn't appear I made a password reset disk.
Any ideas to try would be appreciated!!

    Thank you

Here's a very "hacky" way of getting the Admin account turned on so that you can get in and change the password or add accounts. Enable Administrator account in Windows 7 without logging in with password

I would refrain from downloading their software though. LOL

I have another method in case this doesn't work.
