    The Samsung utility worked. I'm running on the new hard drive as I type this, and everything is as it should be. Why can't Microsoft make it this simple?

    This is a good DM picture.

    I agree with you. M$ should have supplied a simple program like this. But they always have to complicate things.

    Anyhow, you are up and running, that's all which counts. How do you like the speed of the SSD.

    This thing is fantastic. Seconds, instead of minutes, to get to the desktop. This is really what my computer needed to bring it back to life. My Windows Performance Index used to be 5.9 based on my HDD performance. Now I'm at 6.9 with a 7.9 (max on the scale) primary drive performance. Everything the computer does feels faster. I'll never have another computer without a SSD.

    I know what you are talking about. I got my first SSD in 2008 and never had another system without SSD. What is your Dell system. I have an XPS 8300 and there I have nearly the same WEI numbers.
