It was worth a shot... seemed it was Vista compatible, oh well... not sure what else to suggest except reinstalling your existing package over the top, so to speak, and then seeing if the uninstaller will run properly...

Maybe this is the reason that Amazon had this at such a cheap price. It seems to be par for the course that when ordering software from a reseller, that it is old and a new download is needed.

Guess you have no options to auto-update either?

    Although it's hardly Amazons fault.

Your activation code should still work with a later build, but if you can't download one that's *NOT* merely a time-limited trial (what they usually distribute) then give me a shout, I'll see what I can find at my end and your existing key should get you going once more :)

I just gave it a try...actually two. First the normal uninstall, which got exactly the same results as before, because it used the program's own uninstaller. Then I tried the forced uninstall, but even though I browsed to the trueimage.exe, when I proceeded, the next window only listed Paragon. This is part of the reason for needing to uninstall TI in the first place, because when I installed it, I failed to put it in it's own folder, just in a parent folder for Backup.

It still seems strange that it found Paragon, because it is in it's own sub folder. Now, I'm wondering if I'm going to have to uninstall Paragon to uninstall TI?

I downloaded a package that I found through their main download, instead of one listed as a trial, but I won't really know what it is until I get it installed. If it is a trial, shouldn't the license key work on it to make it equal to a regular install?

I finally got it uninstalled using Revo, I uninstalled Paragon first, and then TI appeared in the uninstall window as it should have. Then I had to uncheck the little box for using the program's uninstaller. It then gave me a couple of windows to delete registry entries and program files. I don't know yet how well this worked, except that TI did disappear from Programs and Features and it folder was removed from Program Files.

Something that I noticed is that it listed the program as only x32, instead of x64 as it should have been. I had assumed that the installer would have installed x64 automatically, but now I vaguely recall that I had to contact Acronis to get a link to download a x64 version of TI 10, so I guess that I will try that before proceeding.

I also recall that I had to get a special download for using a USB mouse for the interface to work properly when booting to the disk. Would that still be true now? Would that old TI 10 disk work properly just using it as before?

i just had to register the software so that I could download the latest build, but then there was a line saying that I was only entitled to 30 days of free support, and then gave an expiration of August 28, 2009, which is months before I even bought it. Apparently, they don't want to be bothered by helping their customers. Therefore, I know that I have spent the last dollar that I ever will on any of their products.

Since I apparently can't get any help from Acronis tech support directly...without paying them for it, I decided to post on their forum to express my "warm" feelings about the issues that I have run into, but will have to wait to see if I get a usable response:

I finally got it working by doing a repair install. At least I created and verified an image. I only hope that it will work for a recovery. So problem solved...except for the lack of technical support at Acronis, and their deceptive practice of dating the support term in a fashion that annuls it.
