Windows will not create a restore point

    Hi,

I have just tried to create a restore point, and it says, Access is denied. (0x80070005). Please try again.

    I am running windows 7 64bit.

All work well last week, the only thing downloaded was windows own updates.

    Hope someone can help!

    Keith.

    Hello,

Most of the times the Access denied error message happen because of Antivirus / Firewall disable it and see whether that makes any difference.

have you tried safe mode? antivirus and firewalls have a habit of sneaking around even after they have been "disabled"

    Hello Keith,

As a test, create a new administrator account to see if you are able to while logged into it.

If not, then a repair install should be able to fix this without losing anything.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
