    Restore Public Documents folder

I deleted the \users\public\"Public Documents" folder.

How do I restore this folder?

Simply creating a folder with that name does not create a folder with the correct characteristics.

Will a system restore to a point before you did the deed do it?

    Hello Karl,

If the system restore does not help, the REG file I made below for you should restore your Public Documents folder. You can delete the one that you manually created, merge the REG file, then restart the computer (maybe a couple of times) for it to return.

    Hope this helps,

    Shawn,
Many thanks. I'd already deleted the folder attempt when I noticed that the "Properties" were not the same as for the other Public folders.

You may be able to retrieve it form a restore point with Shadow Explorer. Navigate to it, then right click on the folder and Export back into your system.

    Shawn,
REG file worked like a champ! Didn't even need any restarts or anything more than to just "Merge" the .reg file.
    Thanks, karl
