    backup issue on 7 pro

Hi, i'm having an small problem when i try to make an imagebackup on my 7 pro,the issue i have is when i go to start the backup and choose the image system i want to backup, appears the 7 and xp pro, when i try to get off xp i can't because they're both greyed out,but what seems to me weird is the xp and 7 are installed on two apart hdd's, DISK 0_XP and DISK 1_7,if i do the imagebackup like this i get the double in gb, because the backup picksup either the xp on it,my question is,is outhere an solution to solve this issue or not?

    Thanks.

The imaging app wants to include XP because it contains the System boot files for Win7 and thus would need to be reimaged, too, in order for Win7 to start.

The way to eliminate this is to use a third party imaging app like Macrium Reflect and select just the MBR to include in the Win7 image, not the whole XP partition.

Another more complicated way is to recover the MBR into Win7 by marking it active, running Startup Repair repeatedly from booted Win7 DVD or Repair CD until it starts again, then add XP to the Dual Boot using EasyBCD 2.0 beta. As the MBR is now on Win7, you aren't forced to select XP partition when imaging.

Wel,i did the image backup with MACRIUMREFLECT,but before i was on the group policy, user configuration, and set off the habilities for imagebackup and filesbackup on windows 7,and everything did fine, except the backup with macrium, where i saw 27 gb used on my 7 drive, and the backup did only 17 gb,full imagebackup of 7,only selecting windows 7 partition, why i don't know yet,but i think is enough like this, better then before, with the 7 image backup, where i got 43 gb.
    Thanks for everything.cheers.
