Leo Notenboom is the man behind Ask-Leo.com. I've been reading his site/newsletter for a long time and highly recommend it.

Recently, Leo took a 3 week trip halfway around the world and wrote an interesting article about how he handled backups while away from home.

Everyone has different circumstances when it comes to backing up their computer and data, so I am not suggesting copying Leos specific solutions. But copying his approach would serve you well. More specifically:

Have multiple copies of important data at all times.

In the article, Leo frequently refers to two copies, yet he often has three. Certainly, any important file needs to be backed up both locally and off-site and Leo's solution for this, while on the road without reliable Internet access, was interesting indeed.

Great find. I have read Leo for years, and read Michael Horowitz regularly.

I am a vocal advocate of backups and this articles gives several good suggestions to those who dont yet, but should, backup.

Thanks

Whats funny is this makes sense, and most people know it makes sense and they should do it, but they still don't do it. Even I've been contemplating getting the Acronis offsite/online backup and have still been putting it off.

It is a good product and bullet proof.

Thinking of going to SSD
I'm really thinking of making the jump to SSD. I have my eyes on the OCZ Agility 2 60GB. (I have the current drive and additional 160GB drive to backup all my files, etc.) Space on the other drives is NOT an issue. I'm using 42GB of 260 right now on my WD drive. I'd put the OCZ as my...

Seriously thinking about getting an SSD
I'm currently considering the benefits of getting an SSD. There are certain circumstances keeping me from getting one at the moment, but as soon as I can buy one without going broke, I plan to buy a 30-32GB one for the OS and use my current HDD for file storage. If you had to choose between the two...

thinking about SSD
Hello again, Looking to move my primary W7 machine to SSD in March. Plan on a small one, probably 32gigs for W7, CS4 Design Premium, etc. etc. Is this too small, do I have to go 64gigs? Also, most of the reviews out there, at least on New Egg are average except for the Intel ones. Any...

Thinking of getting this PSU
Can anyone tell me if this PSU is any good? Also will it improve performance over my current supply (see specs) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-023-OC&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1098

Just was thinking....
Windows Seven, should be renamed Windows. Just simply Windows. No suffix. No XP, no Vista, no codenames, no numbers. Just simply Windows. This OS is by far the best I have used. Sure it has some bugs here and there, but that's what happens with Betas. It could be: Windows Basic Windows...
