My system administrator cant turn on system restore

    I'm sorry but if your father has the system setup the way he wants it we can't help you override that.

    well, the thing is that i dont know if my dad did anything to set anything up. the story is: i bought a laptop, connected wirelessly to my parents computer modem, the wireless adapter stopped working and then i am now connecting to the internet via ethernet cable. it is a broadband modem( the type with 5-6 ethernet ports in the back). if any of this helps

    Has anyone else been using your laptop? I don't think anyone could have adjusted the system restore settings on your laptop without a) physically accessing your laptop or b) deliberately accessing it through the network.

    I don't see the relevance of whether you're connected via a wireless or wired connection.

    How many user accounts are on your laptop? You need to be signed in with Administrator privileges.

    Ask Dad. If he says he didnt do anything then you may be stuck, but you do need to ask
