    Favorite Backup Software

Just wondering what your favorite backup software other than the default window feature is. I've heard of and seen too many issues with Windows backup to rely on it in the case that my computer fails. Right now I'm using Macrium Reflect Free Edition, but I've heard of many others and I figured I'd check to see what the favorites are.

Just a suggestion... perhaps make this into a poll?

    I like Acronis!

I would need a list of programs to create a poll, so far all I know if is Macrium and Acronis.

After Ghost, Acronis, Pargon and tinkering with the Win7 native facilities (yukk), I ended up with Macrium too. It is easy to use, transparent, and you always know what is happening. Up to now it has been very reliable on about 20 recoveries (for real and demos in class). I still use Ghost on one of my Vista systems, but that is a lot more complex. Took me several months to understand all the odds and ends. For anybody seriously interested in Macrium, I made this video tutorial that shows the whole cycle from beginning to end.

Those are the two main ones.
Macrium is free .. Acronis is not.
But to get all the features in Macrium ... that Acronis has .. You have to pay for it ..
Then the cost is about the same.

I see the top spot has been replaced in this Freeware List ..
But I don't know anything about Paragon ??

Haven't had any complaints about Ghost since I donated it to the local landfill

I use GFI Backup Home on both computers in the house. We back up to an NAS. It works pretty good, and it's free. My only complaint is that the scheduling can be a little tricky, and it has some trouble with really long file names.

    But hey, it's free...

Lol, it's probably making friends with the copy of NIS 2010 I just donated. :)

What problems did you have with NIS2010. I am about to replace my MSE with NIS2010 (I still have a NIS product key valid for 850 days). I would be interested in your assessment.
