What is the proper way to use Macrium disk image?

I understand that I must first make a rescue-cd and I did this. Next comes the actual disk image, which I have done.

    Question:

1.) When I want to recover by using the disk image Macrium created, do I just plug in the external HDD that houses my image and then simply choose that drive from the Macrium rescue-cd panel?

I was able to boot the rescue-cd, but when I clicked "next", expecting to be taken to the screen that allows me to choose the image, the screen went black and the PC rebooted.

FYI, when i repeated the process without my external HDD plugged in, the PC did not reboot, but I obviously could not get to the disk image.

I watched it and everything worked out, however, the tutorial does not address my issue.

I am able to boot the rescue-cd and then when I click next, the PC reboots. It's not supposed to reboot, it's supposed to take me to the screen where I can choose my image

I've not tried it myself, however have you checked this link: https://www.sevenforums.com/software/...e-macrium.html

You can also check the following links from Macrium themselves, to see if that helps you.

    Sorry for not explaining.

I formatted the external HDD and made a new disk image. Everything worked fine.

Macrium does not provide any support for the free version.
