Window 7 Backup Failing
Hello to all,
Thought I'd start a thread on a problem I have been discussing in a separate SOLVED, thread.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. After installation I tried and successfully used the Backup with and without System Image and System Image. This was backing up my System/Data C: drive to my backup F: Drive. Again, no apparent problems.
I reformatted my F: drive successfully. I have run sfc /scannow several times, I'm only assuming that it checks the 2nd drive as well as the System Drive. I have run chkdsk on both drives. None of the above process' indicate any problems.
The symptoms are as follows. If I do a System Image it works correctly. If I do a Backup with or without a System Image, using Windows Option, or set myself, the Computer indicates in View Progress box the a shadow copy of C: is being made, a System Image is being made, which completes successfully, a shadow of E: (the backup) drive is being made and then it fails. Under More Detail it indicates a 0x80070006 error seemingly referencing the E: Drive. No indications of a partial backup on E: is found although it appears that the System Image stored in the
WindowsImageBackup has the appropriate time. This was noted on a backup attempt with System Image.
One of your fine members gave me a link to a discussion of this problem. It suggested disabling Windows Media from Internet and to enable the Administrator account. I have done both with no change.
As a novice above XP, another suggestion of copying and pasting wbengine was not done as I am severely anxious.
Can anyone assist? Should I try the wbengine patch or try other lines of investigation? Thanks in advance.
