Also, the best software for overclocking your GPU, no matter the manufacturer is MSI Afterburner. I believe the latest and best version right now is 3.0.0 beta 19. Most people in the graphics overclocking community will highly recommend this software. It's what I use and i'm in the #15 position with my 7950. It's best to start out OC'ing just your core at about 20mhz at a time until you hit the wall where it freezes up, then back up 20 and start going up 5 at a time, once you hit that wall, go up 1 at a time until you hit a wall, then back up 2 or 3. Then you can start OC'ing your memory at about 50mhz at a time until you get texture corruption, then just back up about 20-30mhz and congrats, you just hit the max OC for your graphics card. You can play around with the core and memory voltage to try and get a better OC, but it'll be only about 10-50mhz max unless your specific card can handle a big voltage jump. Best to leave memory voltage alone since memory only plays a very small role in your FPS when it's OC.

I was asking about the Bios iGPU settings because in mine I can set & choose which primary output for the graphics: iGPU or PCI-E.

I choosed PCI-E output because is where I did plug onto the discrete card, to my screen monitor.

I know you can swap from Motherboard output or Discrete card output, that's the purpose of GPU Virtualization with Virtu MVP Software (Which i'm using).

Yes, i can decide myself to disable the use of integrated graphics HD4000 on mine (i have the option), but i didn't at the moment.

My Motherboard have 10 Phases, 6 for the processor 2 for the iGPU and 2 for DRAM to be used with DIGI+ Power Control solution.

My Discrete Card have 8 Phases on its own but looks i cannot manually interfere on them.

Now, when i'm using Asus GPU Tweak i can use how power hungry limitation will be the card with the "Power Target%" slider, which is the same as "iGPU Current Capability" in Bios. I wanted to know relation between those two.

But since i have Asus Mobo + Asus discrete Card, GPU Tweak is dedicated to, with the Advanced Settings =>Tune=>"Overclocking Range Enhancement" i can also set. I'll stick with it the time to learn Oc'ing my graphics.


Again yes, that's what i read: Start first Oc'ing the Core then after Oc'ing the Memory.

Sliders permit increments of 10MHz which i use, with the value of 20MHz at each step i go to OC.

Yup it's like a dog chasing it's tail i have good runs on some and terrible on others at this point any little tweeking done will probably not get any more then you have

I remember i did a test with my 7970 changing it from dx10 to 11 and my score got higher but when done with Nvidia it got worse maybe the app is depended on DX10 or 9 instead of 11 just a thought

Yes Doug, We all get to the point where we have reached the max our card will do. After that you know what to expect. Then it isn't much fun to get the numbers you got last time. It takes all the fun out of it when you hit your max.

Totally agree with you Steve. It's not much fun when you reach the max, and it's even worse when your card degrades a little over time and you can't reach the dizzy heights you once reached. I would love to get a new card but it would be plain stupid getting one just for benchmarks. Mine runs games so well I have no reason to change it. Perhaps I should get a 4K screen then I would have an excuse lol but in reality I don't have the money for either right now.
