    Thank you Steve.

I know this is not the right place for this question and I have already started a new thread about it, but since I'm here I might as well ask.
I'm having issues with 3D Mark 11 Physics benchmarks. I can only achieve like 3-5 fps with new rig, whereas I used to get 20-25 with old setup (FX8120 4.3GHz, Asus M5a97 Evo, single 7850). I get very good fps in all other tests.
Can it be related to PCI-E voltages or frequencies set in BIOS? DirectX installation, Physics runtime?
I would very much appreciate your advice.
    Cheers,
    J

Bungee, I am the wrong person to help with that. Truthfully I don't know. Paulpicks would probably be much better than me. It has always been my understanding that if you have an AMD card which has a work around for it, but no direct PhysX, the test runs off of your CPU. But, your CPU should get you much higher scores than that. So, I really can't tell you much about it, and what I said is most likely wrong.

OK, so I OC'ed the cards to 1150/1350 with TriXX.
Everything set to max/high/extreme in benchmark.
These are the results (no OC and OC)
Any advice on OC'ing these cards? Optimum settings?
    Thanks,
    J

Steve, the physics test in 3D Mark 11 is not the same as PhysX (Nvidia). The physics test in 3D mark is based purely on the CPU, I get exactly the same score/fps with my amd gpu as I did with my nvidia as it's not related to the gpu at all.

I am unsure why bungee would only be getting 3-5fps for his CPU though, it is very low, mine is around 34fps and he said his old setup was 20-25 which sounds about right.

That's a real good score with the oc bungee, a lot of it is down to the resolution of your monitor though, its hard to compare realistically as most scores are on a 1920x1080, what's the stock core and memory speed on the cards?

The core overclock is pretty high already, my card is 1050 stock and I only managed 1200 out of it, a 150mhz increase, you are at 230mhz increase already, I would imagine you are pretty much at the limit.

The memory oc, I managed 200mhz increase so you might be able to push that a little more, but to be honest it won't make much difference in the benchmarks.

    Paul.

I need some advice here guys, again...
After many frustrating attempts at getting some logical results in the 3D Mark 11 Physics an Combined tests, I tried running them without a CPU OC (BIOS optimized defaults). To mo surprise I was able to get 21 FPS in Physics and 28 FPS in Combined, while I was getting 3-6 FPS when CPU was overclocked...
    WEI dropped, of course.
I'm very confused. What is it that could be wrong with my overclock that may be affecting performance in these benchmarks?
    Any advice, tips?
    Thanks,

    Jay

Bungee you are driving yourself crazy for one program that may have a minor glitch that is giving you bad results

3d mark would crash on me all the time on that test with my old cpu overclocked or not but the funny thing is i ran it the first time it went through like nothing

I wouldn't worry about it the performance is there it is just a benchmark numbers don't mean anything vs it's real purpose
