I bet I can push the score a little further too. Think it's funny/odd that i'm beating the 280x, which is really just a renamed 7970 ghz edition. I'm about to buy a plain 280, which is the renamed version of my current card, and xfire them. Already looked it up and they are compatible, because the r9 series all the way to 280x is just renamed 7xxx series, only the 290 and up is offering something truly new.

you know your card is a 7970 with out the extra stream processors if you flashed it pretty much a 7970ghz ed

You already have a MSI card it will just transform your current into the Lightning version of the 7970 through the bios

If you look at the chart my old setup crossfire that is with the MSI Lightning Bios

Can you post directions to do this?
I used to have an x850 pro back in the day that i reflashed to make it an x850 ecstasy platinum edition.
Gave me a big performance boost, more heat though, had to put on an aftermarket cooler.
My current card runs really cool, even with the voltage boost and OC.
It used to run really hot, all I did to cool it down was remove the cooler, wipe off the TIM and replace it with some mx-2. Got 10-12c cooler temps just from doing that. I don't know what they use at the factory, but it sucks.

Well first off i did it with a ATI flash tool you can find on overclockers.net

I will let you know now if your card doesn't have a dual bios don't try it because it will brick the card if it goes wrong

I flashed it, but it didn't unlock the extra stream processors. That and i'm assuming the memory timings are different since I got a bit of corruption, faster performance, but corruption. I tried a few different ones and ended up bricking my card. Not new to flashing video cards though, so i was able to fix it by using the integrated graphics built into the 4770k to boot up and reflash it with original bios. Reason I asked how was because I'd always heard you couldn't unlock the stream processors on the 7950 just by reflashing the bios. Did some research and haven't heard of anyone being able to.

Edit: Oh, btw, have a better score to post.
Not with the 7970 bios, but the original. Just did some more tweaking.
