Dual boot = duplicate mail in Outlook

    Hi,
I am dual booting Vista 64 with win7 64 and I have my Outlook 2007 pst file shared by both. When I switch from either OS to the other Outlook redownloads all current mail thereby duplicating all the mail in my inbox. Is there a way to fix this?
    Thanks,
    RA

Try here, there is a lot more involved than just simply sharing pst files. the security descriptors change, etc. It can be done, but it can be involved. An easier way to deal with this, is to set up a rule that eliminates duplicates.

Thanks for the post and link. I had seen that one during my initial searches to get this resolved. Since I already had moved my PST to a neutral location that did not appear to be it. Maybe I am missing something... But your idea of a rule to eliminate the dupes may be the cleanest way to go.

    Appreciate the help.

Where are you retrieving your mail from? Do you need to keep a copy of it on the server?

Unfortunately, that account I do need to keep them on the server. I delete after a week or when I delete manually.
    Thanks,
