Of course they don't however, what I should have said, was that margin of difference in this benchmark is way too great. I wonder what could cause such a big discrepency. These results reflect other people's experience with Chrome but for me, it's slower than FF all round.
Looks like I have some investigating to do

This is strange. These results do not reflect real world usage for me. Chrome loads web pages noticeably slower than either FF or IE
Thats a joke, right? IE has never loaded pages faster then FireFox/Chrome for me. Also, is your Firefox 'Optimized' in any way (about:config tweaks to speed it up)? When I say Chrome is faster then Firefox, I mean with its default settings.

I shouldn't have to tweak a browser to make it faster then another. :)

No tweaks at all and definately not a joke!

I suppose as I've said in the past "Different hardware, different setups, different results" but geez.

When was the last time you did a clean installation?

my system isn't even a month old. I've just been trying Chrome here at work and it's terrible. I put it and FF side-by-side and opened the same web page. FF loaded it fast, Chrome didn't load it completely at all..I got sick of waiting and closed it! My work system has nowhere near the specs as my home rig but still...

Last question. Which version are you trying. Stable, beta or dev?

Hmm. That is quite odd. I've tried it on three computers (mine, my girlfriends and my best friends, both have better specs then my own). All three Chrome was the fastest on, Firefox was a little slower and IE8 was a lot slower. (different internet speeds to)

What I find odd is that I never have to wait on Internet Explorer to load....ever. So why switch to a "faster" browser?

IE loads quickly at startup; it just doesn't load pages nearly as quick as FF and Chrome - at least on my machines. That can make a big difference for those with slow internet connections.
