Have you tried sending an email to yourself? What time was shown in the sent items folder and what time was shown in the inbox?

Yes did try that and same happened with those emails , sent items had correct time whereas incoming had the wrong time, I ended up finding out it was a fault with the setting upon my computer, time date , within control panel. Was found to be actually acting on the setting below the one selected. When I went to check , it had listed the correct time zone but it actually wasn't using the right time zone. Re loaded windows and all now going ok , thanks !!
It appears that in live mail at least incoming mail time issues are solely to do with the computers set time zone , whilst the outgoing time zone is selected by the time zone selected in windows live mail ? Makes sense now

HELP!
I was using Outlook Express with Windows 7 on my HP4900 computer
My Current problem: Suddenly I can see ONLY ONE email
No more the LIST of ALL emails i.e INBOX, OUTBOX, SENT ITEMS, DRAFTS, etc
I cannot see contents of any email folders
I switched to my alternate (Yahoo) email address on the HP4900

I can still receive email at my old address on another computer Compac 6120
I have been having problems with Live Mail from the start, not being able to read
the contents of several kind of graphics in email and some videos

How can I reset everything so I can see the content LIST of the Inbox etc.
Anyone please HELP

OE only runs on XP, not Vista or Win7.
However the Compac is set up, it's OK.
Are you referring to Windows Live Mail, the downloadable client?

If you want to reset WLM, you can go to the Windows Live Essentials listing in "Programs and Features" and do a "change" and choose "repair". Alternatively, you can upgrade to the latest version by re-running the original downloaded installer file.

The old woman happily used OUTLOOK EXPRESS 6 on my Windows 2000 Pro computer. Was given a brand new computer with Windows 7, and can no longer use wonderful Outlook Express. MUST use "Windows Live". I absolutely and completely Hate Windows Live!!

With OUTLOOK EXPRESS I had 3 email identities -- one for work, one for pleasure, and one for junk. Easily switched between accounts. Now, with WINDOWS LIVE, they are ALL on one page and I must double check "who I am" before sending out an email. This is ridiculous!

Keep asking peoplel I know who are computer smart: "3 kids in a family have 3 different email accounts, one each. With WINDOWS LIVE each kid would have access to the other 2 accounts. Yes, I understand about using passwords. But I am the ONLY person using this computer and I do not want to keep entering passwords! I liked it that my 3 email accounts (identities?) were separate and distinct. I WANT THAT BACK !!"

What to do? Please note I am not computer savvy!

Oh, also, I do not like it that there is not the word "Address Book", or that this computer can no long insert the email address if I type the first/second letter of the email address. Microsoft had something good before so do not understand why they changed something that wasn't broken!

Goodness gracious! I'm baffled because one problem leads to another problem. Figured out how to sign onto this forum, and posted something. Now I can't find how to log out! And, to add to my confusion, now I'm not sure if I have Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail. I think it's Windows Mail, but ya never know. I'm too old to learn this new-fangled stuff.

No built in email client and the only program similar to OE being WLM, is the only main reason Seven sucks.
I am very seriously thinking of downgrading to XP or vista for lack of this. I am a business person and the only thing I need is emailing. And microsoft has messed it up with WLM. Apart from all the problems previous posts indicate the main problem is there is no way to backup and restore the storage folders (identical) between computers.

@OP Your point 3 is the same as point 1.

You dont have to sign in in order to use the program. But maybe you use other live services anyway (in which case it wouldnt be a problem).

Personally I love the new WLM.
