IE8 dosen't save downloads

    You might want to try resetting IE's advanced settings. Under Control Panel - Network and Internet - Internet Settings - Advanced, try 'Restore advanced settings'. Failing that you coud 'Reset' IE all together. The second option will reset IE to facotory settings so all Addons will need to be re-installed.

    Unfortunately that didn't work for me. I am still unable to save downloads.

    Don't download with your AV turned off.

    yes. and i have tried reseting IE's settings, still no fix

    yes (ex my music, documents, C:, etc...) still nothing. and as I've said before I've noticed that the download window disappears before the download is finished. i find that odd.

    i just remembered that IE can be 'uninstalled' from win 7 rc, right? what if i just did that and then reinstalled it? could that work? has anyone ever done that?

    I would probably install Firefox and try downloading using that to see if you can download using anything.

    If that works, then you could try uninstalling-reinstalling IE.

    i have been using chrome and Firefox for my downloading needs
