Thanks for the heads up. Been running the nightlies for a while now, so no idea when I switched over to 7. Google sure is cooking up version numbers fast though.

I just put on Chromium today. Not sure what the differences are. But other than having to uninstall, then install some extensions, it seems fine. Only just got done setting up all my Speed dials so I haven't surfed with it that much yet.

edit: btw, anyone know shortcuts to transfer stuff like search engine setup from other Chrome versions? It has import settings from just about every other browser but another chrome. I'm on Chromium portable so that's likely why it hasn't just picked everything up.

If you want your user customizations (bookmarks, extensions, etc) you can go and copy/paste the User Data folder from this location "C:\Users\YOUR_ACCOUNT_NAME\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome"

Remember, you 'may' need to reinstall your extensions (may not fully work).

Thanks for the reply. I put on this chrome 7 and I'm trying it now. Seems like it picked everything up from previous Chrome. If it pans out I'll just delete the Chromium portable folder. It didn't show any dead extensions. Plus it didn't kill my favicons either. :)

Glad to hear that. Sometimes it will kill extensions but it could be 'log-in' based ones like GMail ones. Let me know if you have anymore questions regarding Google Chrome/Chromium.

Thanks. Funny how it goes. I hated the idea of Speed-dial when it came out in FF. Had to find out how to kill it right away. Now using it in Chrome I got hooked. I finally put it on both my FF browsers. Better home page than about:blank :)

edit: seems snappy. Guess it should. Just running Speed-dial it has 8 processes going. :)
