Windows 7: Relation Between Firefox & Chrome?

Relation Between Firefox & Chrome?

I only use Firefox 3.6.9. but decided to try Google Chrome.

I noticed that Chrome can use some Firefox add-ons like Adblock and IE8 tab.

Is there a relation between both browsers? Just curious.

Since most add-ons are written by independent people they just write a version for various browsers.
