    HKCR\Applications\iexplore.exe\shell\open

I don't know how I managed to make my IE8 stop working but I did.

I don't even know how I managed to copy and save this error message:

    Open with Application Issue
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" %1
    HKCR\Applications\iexplore.exe\shell\open

Is there a simple way to get IE8 back without uninstalling and re-installing it?

    Thank you,
    Steve

Not sure what you mean by "working". Are you saying that opening IE only produces that error message so it fails to open at all? If so, you probably need to go to P&F/"Turn Windows Features..." and hope it will uninstall and reinstall properly. Alternatively you may be able to go to "Control Panel/Internet Options/Advanced/Reset..." but that requires the Options part of IE to be working. Either way you will have to reenable/install your add-ons.

Perhaps try the Captains tool IE Restorator, specifically the reregister:

Thanks guys, I think I'll just un-install and re-install it.
