LOL, true. First thing I do on a new Mac is run updates, then download FF. Just did this last month on my kid's new Mac mini.

I honestly assumed Firefox came with OSX like it does for Ubuntu Linux, because I've never been in front of a Mac without it.

I tried it out mostly to see how it worked, lol.
I'm not going to continue using it; in fact, I am uninstalling it.

No harm in that at all, but in the future, if you plan to test out software....virtualize.

I use Safari since version 4 as well and I really like it. Sometimes, I do all my browsing using Safari whole day.

Tried it on windows and it just didn't impress - I still use Firefox and it runs great, subsidized with Opera and Chrome

I use FF on my Mac, with Opera and Camino (nice little browser) as alternates - Safari is on the machine but I rarely touch it.

Exactly. Plus that will reduce your desire to later run a registry cleaner and such to clean up the left behind debris. I saw nip the problem at the bud...don't install the stuff to your main machine in the first place. I love virtual machines.

LOL! I clean my registry daily; I clean my entire PC daily...
I generally use VMs only to test out new operating systems.

I have used Safari before and I must say that the features are quite good especially the Mac font smoothing/rendering and speed dial. I discontinued using Safari because it's a memory/resource hogger, and bombs your PC with bloatware when installed. It also has a couple of bugs, and crashes at times. If I were a Mac user, I would definitely use Safari but since I'm a PC user so I'll go with Google Chrome. Chrome and Safari are both based on the WebKit engine anyway, and Chrome performs great here.
