    Windows Live Mail scrolling question

Just updated to Windows Live Mail 2011 from the previous version. In the previous version, when mail arrived, the window would scroll down to the new mail, stacking and revealing the messages (at the bottom of the window, in my case). In the new version, when mail arrives, the window doesn't scroll to the mail. I have to manually scroll down to it. Is there a way to have the window scroll to the newly arriving mail automatically, as it did in the past? I wonder if I missed a setting for this. Thanks.

Anyone? Just chime in, please. I can't help think that I missed a simple, obvious setting.

That reminds me of the situation with way newsgroups have worked for years. When viewing newsgroups I prefer to let the new messages arrive at the bottom (vs emails which I prefer to do just the opposite). Usually I jump to the bottom by clicking on any message at random and hitting the keyboard's "end" key.

Yeah, I do that, too. I reordered the "date" column so that messages arrive at the top, and that scrolling works fine--top down. But I prefer the other way, which is the way WLM 2010 worked. Is there a setting for this--to get it to scroll from the bottom up? Thanks.

I also prefer new mail to arrive at the bottom and then scroll upwards, but the autoscroll doesn't seem to work or have they removed that feature? I switched from Mozilla Thunderbird just because it didn't autoscroll to show new mail. What now?

I think I read somewhere else (sorry--can't remember where) that autoscrolling from the bottom was removed in WLM 2011.

    Yes, I can imagine that.
So I just uninstalled WLM 2011, automatically sent to digital hell, and reinstalled the former more capable version of WLM instead.
Wonder what they will remove from WLM 2012, the ability to read mail perhaps..?

One reason why I like WLM 2011 is that in WLM 2010, I used to get a message that I was offline and would I like to try again. That happened often. Now, with WLM 2011, that no longer happens.
