    GMAIL - Contacts not reachable

When clicking on Contacts in Gmail, I get that "loading" message forever.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

I can work with SevenForums just fine.

Don't know, but I wonder if it has anything to do with the legal settlement over Buzz? They may be working over their security.

EDIT: I just tried to go to my Gmail account, and it's not loading.

I'm not having any problems loading Gmail and getting to contacts.
Might be a local problem (USA)

I suspect you are correct. I have several gmail accounts and none work regarding email. Old mail was in the inbox of accounts that I hadn't checked recently.

Am having to use IE right now which strangely enough works.

I even uninstalled Firefox and then reinstalled Firefox.

Let's hope that google and/or firefox resolves the problem.

Just tried it again, and it loaded very quickly.

It's working fine for me with FF

Uninstalling/reinstall FF rarely will fix a problem like this or most others. You need to load FF with a clean profile.
My personal best choice to do that is to rename the C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\ folder
Then start up FF and it'll ask to import bookmarks, just skip that, and then recreate the problem. In this case going to Gmail and then Contacts.
Alternatively you can use Firefox's SafeMode which should more or less do the same thing, it prevents any add-ons from running. I don't completely trust this since I've a rare case where the problem was still there but wasn't when I renamed the profile.

If with the fresh profile everything works fine then the problem with an extension. Check for updates for all extensions and see if that works. Or if the problem started after an extensions update, then disable it and try again. Other wise disable some extensions until the problem is gone.

I have fixed several problems with firefox by uninstall followed by fresh install. Have always been able to fix firefox problems in this manner.

I just tried again under firefox and still no go.

Will try again in a couple of hours.

Under another account, where Buzz was still on, it hangs also when I try to turn buzz off.

Right now I've got both IE and firefox open and only using ie for mail.

Uninstalling FF doesn't remove the profile folder, normally.
So unless you were removing the profile folder as well, then yes. However that is over kill. That's like formatting and reinstalling Windows because you can't delete a single file that is being used by another program that you didn't know was running. (ok that analogy is a bit off but you get my point).
