Mozilla delays Firefox 4 until 'early 2011'

Mozilla has pushed back the planned release of Firefox to sometime in "early 2011." Previously, the open source outfit had said its latest desktop browser would be officially released next month.
"As discussed in today’s Firefox delivery meeting, release candidate builds are now scheduled to ship in early 2011, with the final GA release shortly after," a Mozilla representative tells The Register. The new Firefox 4 release schedule can be found here.
Firefox 4 is now in its sixth beta release. Beta 7 — the "feature complete" beta — was due on September 17, but according to Mozilla's schedule, it will not arrive until November.

    Thanks, Yowanvista! :)

Better late than never. Better right than not.

I just wish they (Mozilla) would ready an x64 supported release for 4.0. I've been using 4.0b 6-7-8pre as my primary browser for quite some time since square (flash) x64 landed.

Once the final 4.0 release is announced, I'll check it out. In the meantime, I'm happy with the x64 4.0b8pre.

    Mozilla won't officially support x64 FF4.0, maybe in 4.1

Thanks, yeah, I know. I'm disappointed, as I mentioned above.

I spend a bit of time on the Mozilla forums and the x64 version seems to be almost an afterthought. I hope such thinking doesn't bite them, and their developers, in the bottom.
