How do I remove searchassist.teoma. It comes up when I do a search from the address bar of firefox.
I have this problem on all my computers and I just reformated the comptuer I'm on and haven't installed much and this problem is back again!
Where does this even come from!!
It sounds like a hijack
Run the full anti virus scan
Download and run malwarebytes make a full scan after you update it.
I tried running both of those and they didn't find anything on any of the three computers.
I also went into about:config in firefox and it wasn't in there as well. Everything is set to default google.

If you have ASK toolbar/search bar anywhere on the PC remove it.
After Googling searchassist "Ask" comes up specific to this.
Second listing down is "Ask" web site is listed as searchassist.teoma.com/
searchassist.teoma - Google Search
Get rid of "Ask" and the problem may be gone. Start under Device Manager> Programs and Features and delete all the Ask apps/software.

It was probably included with another software download where you have to uncheck to NOT install it.
I would also look into completely resetting your browser and disabling ALL addons to see if it clears the problem. I know you said that you've reformatted but you may have installed certain addons (even if from a supposedly trusted source) that may contain malicious code.
