Can't Upload Videos (Active X problem??)

Greetings,

Ok the facts. Recently built a new comp and did a fresh win7x64 install on SSD.

It's been about a week, all software, drivers, flash, java, etc have all been installed/updated.

The problem:

I cannot upload any videos online either with youtube or vimeo, both behave the same where a 1gb upload finishes in seconds and then hangs on finishing your upload.

This suggests an active X problem (perhaps) so I tested it out on this site ActiveX Test and I get "Active X Is Not Supported" which I find very strange.

I CAN upload a picture to facebook or picasa web albums.

The Details:

-Occurs on both IE8 and Firefox 3.6.12
-Addons in Firefox ONLY are 'Xmarks' 'LastPass' & 'Java Console'
-Security is ESET NOD32 and Malwarebytes Realtime protection
-Windows 7 Firewall and DIR615 Router
-ISP Shaw Cable (25Mbps/1Mbps)

Computer:

-ASUS PX658D-E w/i7 950 OC'd to 4.0Ghz
-ATI 5870
-Intel X25-M SSD + WD Caviar Black + Seagate

Attempts thus far:

-Ran ESET A/V Scans and Malwarebytes
-IE8 went to internet options, advanced, and RESET
-Turned of all addons in Firefox
-Reboot Router
-Turned OFF Eset, and Live Malwarebytes and Windows Firewall

Any suggestions at this point would be much appreciated as I am trying to deliver some time critical videos to someone.

Looks like you have already tried that which I was going to suggest, but I'll suggest anyway.

Turn off MalwareBytes live protection.
Turn off, uninstall ESET.

Install and use Microsoft Security Essentials.
MSE - Microsoft Security Essentials

Turn on and use Windows Firewall.

Do either of the sites you mentioned have an upload file size limit?
I'm not a video person so you will need to excuse my ignorance.

ESET is not the problem as I was using it before with my old build, but it wouldn't hurt I guess to do a complete uninstall and reinstall of it, and it's paid for as well and has always done a good job so I don't think I'd like to make the switch to MSE quite yet.

As for file size limits, I am conforming to their site limits AND I have tried multiple video files/sizes just to be sure.

interesting, I uninstalled both my ESET A/V and Malwarebytes and I am finally able to upload again?!?!

As I stated before, I was using ESET previously but NOT the real time version of Malwarebytes so I'm inclined to think therein lied the problem. To confirm, I am going to reinstall ESET and try the upload again.

Yes watching videos is not an issue. Further to my findings in my last post the problem DOES lie somewhere with ESET Nod32. Since REinstalling it the problems return. I don't understand this because I was using ESET prior to rebuilding my computer and could upload videos fine.

Also, when I attempt to upload a video and it fails, my internet connection suddenly gets all buggered up and moves painfully slow until I reboot.

I'm not sure here, I went through the settings and don't really see where the problem is. I just find this odd that this problem is only occurring now. Perhaps an update to the software itself caused a change to a setting which I can't locate now.

I agree that is strange, as I can pass the test. But I can't say whether or not it's related to your issue. Since you want to use activeX safely, check that IE has several security items set to "prompt" or "enable":
Script behavior,
Signed ActiveX Controls,
Run ActiveX controls and plugins, and
Script ActiveX controls marked safe.
My guess is that if you are set for the highest possible level of security, you may not even see a prompt to install ActiveX controls.
