    ie8 page refresh 'click'

It's pretty trivial, I know, but can someone advise on how to stop the annoying "click" sound when you open a page (or a page refreshes)?

It's not in Control Panel --> sound --> sounds --> program events, neither have I had luck in opening ie8 tools --> options --> advanced --> multimedia --> play sounds in webpages.

It's just that some pages, for example www.imdb.com refresh every 10 seconds and it's really annoying!

Probably doesn't help that I have my PC's headphone out going to the stereo, lol.

Scratch that - just lucked out on Microsoft Answers. It's under Windows explorer in cP sounds. Go figure...

Control Panel -> Sounds -> Sounds (tab) -> Windows Explorer (tree) -> Start Navigation <- Uncheck.

    Try this method:

Windows Orb > Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Sound > Sounds Tab

Now scroll down to Windows Explorer, then click the option titled Start Navigation, now use the drop down menu next to the test button & select none.

    Apply & OK it all

EDIT: Seems you've sorted it yourself :)

No problem & glad you got it sorted

I don't use IE these days but imagine those clicking sounds get annoying pretty fast.
