    Windows 7 Mail reinstall

On Windows 7 how do I reinstall Windows Mail?

I had removed WM completely because I never use it (don't ask!). Recently in Windows update "2011 essentials Live" showed up on the optional updates list; so I tried to install; to no avail... any wisdom to correct such a short sided blunder would be appreciated. -Thanks

    richc46,

"Windows mail" is not the same as Windows LIVE MAIL which is bundled into "Live Essentials 2011" and fails every time I've tried to install because (Windows Mail) is / was actually a part of the Windows operating system. I do not want to perform a recovery which would solve the problem but at to high of a price. -Thanks

You basicly have two choices, use a restore point prior to deleting Win Mail or do a repair install with your Windows 7 dvd. You don't lose anything when you do a repair install

Windows Mail wasn't part of Windows 7, and that's just fine because Windows Live Mail is a far superior product. Why not just use Windows Live Mail 2011?

If you look in Win Explorer under program files Window Mail is there, no it's not useable without hacking it in, but what he's refering to is he deleted that folder and now he can't install Windows Live Mail 2011. I think those files although not usable by themselve's were used by WLM 2011

I don't have a Windows 7 dvd (factory installed desktop) but I did create a repair disk; Is there a procedure to restore Widows mail without affecting other programs?

I have other win 7 upgrade disks for other computers; can I use them to repair this computer? -Thanks

I tried several times to install "Live Mail" always with the same results. cannot install, repair and troubleshooting options also proved fruitless -Thanks

I'll have to check when I get a chance, but I don't believe I have those files either, and WLM 2011 installed flawlessly on three computers for me.
