Easiest Way to send a link?

When I used XP with IE 6.0,/OE 6.0 if I wanted to send the link to a site I
was on, I would just click file/send/link by email.

I now have W7 and IE 8.0 and Thunderbird. I can't seem to find the same
functionality. I have to copy the link and paste it in an email. Is there a
better way akin to what I mentioned?

    Hello and Welcome to SF!
Are you saying you can't find the function or it doesn't work ?
I don't really use IE but if you press the ALT key you'll get the old menu bar at the top of IE back.
And under File /Send there is an option "Link by email" That might be what you're looking for

    Sledge:

Thank you. I was unaware of the ALT feature.
So, I tried that and got the old menu.

But when I press the File/Send the option to send link as email is greyed out.

Any ideas? I use Thunderbird as my email client, but IE 8 as my browser

Like I said... I don't use IE so I only can assume that IE doesn't see Thunderbird as the systems email client.

Have you set Thunderbird as Default email application?
Either from Control Panel or via
    Startbutton/Default Programs/Set your default programs

It was not. I just set it but still no joy-- still greyed out.

    (Maybe after I reboot?)
