...Any new suggestions?
As I mentioned in that thread (post #2) it works properly for me in IE8-32 bit. All you can do to fix IE8 is reset it, although I've heard some people suggest unchecking IE8 from "Programs and Features"/"Windows Features" and then, after rebooting, check it off again to reinstall it.

So far I've verified it works on my systems running 32-bit versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7, fully updated. My security program is MSE. (I've tried it with the popup blocker on and off and also with my hosts file blocking on and off.) Besides talking to the Deviantart folks, you could also call the help desk for your PC and ask them to do the back-button test on . If it works for them but not for you, they may be able to suggest something. However, they will most likey want you to restore your system to it's factory installed state.

Loooooong post, going to try and sum everything up to the best I can remember :) A few months back I powered down my rig for a short time to test an adapter I had on one of my GPUs. It wasn't the adapter I thought it was, so I put it away and powered back on. Upon POST'ing, I was then greeted...

I delete it and after about 5 to 6 seconds it pops back up in the same place! In 25 years of this stuff I've never run into this. I have...
