IE8 Will not Play Flash or Load IE9 Download.

I'm new here and thank you in advance for your help. I' running W7 Home Premium 64bit. The problem I am having is that IE will not play anything in flash from CBS or You Tube. Also I tried downloading IE today and when I click the download link IE displays "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". I also have this problem when clicking on sponsored links when searching with google. I am using my bit browser.

    Things I have tried:

I have uninstalled Flash and reinstalled. I have install flash 9.
I have tried Chrome, and Fire Fox which did not work.
I only use MS Security Essentials and it is off, I've also tried with it uninstalled.
I have turned off the firewall and it still doesn't work.
I have Verizon Fios internet and can't find anything in settings there that might help.

I tried searching in the forum here but I most not be searching under the correct verbiage.

    Thanks for your help.

    Alright, I see you're using a 32-bit browser.

    Try to:

    1. Uninstall Flash again from this website Uninstall Flash Player | Windows

In a nuthshell, it basically tells you to :

    *Run http://download.macromedia.com/pub/f...ash_player.exe
*Check Adobe - Flash Player to see if you really have flash uninstalled. If it displays

    it wasn't uninstalled properly.

Also make sure that there's no file left under "<drive>:/Windows/SysWOW64/Macromed/Flash/" Or the folder themselves don't exist.

    2. Next, Install flash from Adobe - Install a different version of Adobe Flash Player

Sorry for the delay I locked myself out of the site by forgetting my login. I attempted all the steps you offered but did not have any luck. I got a message while trying to install IE9 that stated it was not compatible with windows 7 32-bit/64-bit. I also noticed that on some websites like cent that banner ads to not show up just the place holder is there. I'm trying to watch a show on CBS but the error I get is that either the show is not available or is being blocked by my browser. I really appreciate your help. I'm heading to sleep but will attempt any options you offer in the morning.

Why not postpone the IE9 Beta install until you get IE8 32-bit working:

    roncerr,

I attempted the reset but that didn't solve the problem. And your correct my main problem is not installing IE9. I'm focused on getting IE8 running then I will worry about IE9. I can't help but think that there is something in a security setting blocking it. Would that be possible?

I'm sorry. I chose the Vista direct link. Guess I was as sleepy as you were LOL. Anyway, try this one: http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...s7-x64-enu.exe

I noticed you said "IE will not play anything in flash from CBS or You Tube" but later said that Chrome and Firefox don't work either. Also you said the problem is with "Flash from CBS or Youtube". So I'd follow arkhi's instructions about uninstalling and reinstalling 32-bit Flash. If IE is reset and Flash is working per Adobe's website, Youtube should work unless Verizon is blocking it. Are all Youtube videos blocked or just some?
