    Website Log-in

In IE 8, I have tabbed pages that require being logging on. All have a block titled "Remember Me" and I always check that. Two tabs, however, have stopped 'remembering me' and I have to log on every time I visit. This is one of the sites. Does anyone know how I can stay logged on?

    Hello Mike,

Do you have cookies enabled, or enabled per site?

If you do, then deleting your cookies or all browsing history will remove the log in information since it's stored in the cookie.

    Hope this helps,

Thanks, Shawn. I think cookies are enabled but I'm not really sure how to do that as most site and unaffected. I'm not sure how to enable them per site.

Option Two in the tutorial link (click on) above can help show you how to. You would just need to type in the website's URL address in those settings and click on the "Allow" button to allow cookies to be enabled for that specific website. Afterwards, repeat for any other website that you want to allow. :)

Thanks, Shawn. I've been there and have completed that action on both websites with which I'm having the log-in problems. It hasn't solved the issue.

You may have corrupted cookies. Try Option Two in the tutorial below to delete the cookies for the affected sites, then see if you may be able to stay logged in afterwards with the new cookie.

Most passwords are stored in the registry in a way that you can't edit directly. If two entries are make for the same website, it often brakes the auto login in such a way that IE won't display it's popup window asking if you want to save the password. I use a handy free tool called "IEPassView" which lets you view and delete the duplicates so that IE will prompt you again to set it properly: IE PassView - Password Manager Program for Internet Explorer
