    ActiveX


    A friend has asked me to look at a problem on his computer. Something is wrong with ActiveX. It is a Toshiba laptop running Windows 7 64-bit. I am using the 32-bit version of IE8. I have tried installing IE9 Beta. I have followed the advice here: Lack of Activex, but to no avail. I checked the browser at Lack of Activex, and it says ActiveX is not supported. I have reset IE. I have added the site he is trying to get to as a safe site. I have enabled all activeX settings. I am at a total loss.

    Any suggestions?

This issue has almost certainly been discussed before but I'd like to know why ActiveX scripts are challenged by Internet Explorer 9, (and all previous incarnations), and not by other browsers. Wasn't ActiveX a Microsoft alternative to JavaScript?
ActiveX Errors

Every time I run a registry cleaner program in Win 7 I get about 150 ActiveX errors. Is this something I should be worried about? Should I delete some ActiveX controls, or whatever they're called? Where do I even find them?
Is that me or the ActiveX wrong?

I was using FF, as usual, and I used the Coral IE tab, and used an activeX-login. then, the computer started to load something, then suddenly the BSOD came out. I did install it correctly, (both ActiveX and coral IE tab), so I tried IE. Guess what? Same thing happened. HELP!
