    Mozilla ignores profile when opened via email/web hyperlink

    When I open Mozilla via local icons, it will read and load a specific profile. This allows me to use 3.6.13 (..\firefox.exe" -p "FF_3_6_13" -no-remote) and 4.0b9pre (..\firefox.exe" -p "Minefield64" -no-remote) without one interfering with the other. (4.0b9pre is set as default).

    When the browser opens via an e-mail or web page hyperlink the profile file is ignored. I can live with it but sometimes I need an add-on I use and it is not running.

    Is there a setting I can use to have Mozilla read the profile when opening it from a hyperlink?

    Check your profiles.ini in Notepad it should look somewhat like this:

    [General]
    StartWithLastProfile=1

    [Profile0] <--- FF 3.6 profile
    Name=New1112
    IsRelative=1
    Path=Profiles/j39iqzek.New1112
    Default=1

    [Profile1] <--- FF4 Profile
    Name=FF4
    IsRelative=1
    Path=Profiles/dgu37doz.FF4
    Default=1

    Make sure the Default= is present in EACH Block and of course have it point to the profile Block you want to use for those email links

    You're most welcome, Manigue
    It's one of those little "quirks" that tend to annoy the living daylight out of you.
    The average FF user usually only has 1 version on a computer at a time and thus will never have to deal with it,
    Glad it worked for you
    Thanks for the feedback
