Well, I see that Tbird has an option for "Outlook Express" when you go to the tools/import menu and choose "mail".

I'm guessing you have already tried that and landed in the toilet?

I went from OE to WLM to T bird, rather than OE to T bird, so I dunno how hopeless T bird is importing OE directly.

Tbird does have a good forum.

Below is how Tbird looks on my PC now. You can pretty much drag and drop messages between folders.

"...The key here is that the OLD E-MAILS are not there..."
Not sure how you define "old". All the email that is included in the .dbx file should be imported if you import using the "Outlook Express" format. Have you tried selecting one .dbx at a time? It's folder name and email should be under the storage folder's "imported mesages" group.

    Hmmm ..

I'm a long time Thunderbird user who thought it might be time to move to a web based approach for e-mail. My first take on WLM leaves a real bad taste and makes me wonder if it's a good move, reinforced by what I read here.

BTW, there is a freeware utility that can be used to move local data into TBird, I did this earlier this year pulling old messages from Outlook Express and Outlook. I was searching around for it tonite but can't seem to locate, if I find I will post here.
