Hmm ,well i would still like to get to the bottom of why after several years of being a happy loyal firefox user i am forced to switch browsers, and also if we can solve it with a fix then that will help future members with similar issue possibly.
im also not happy that to use my yahoo mail account successfully i have to switch to mail classic in order for it to function in chrome.

I guess this thread is solved then?
    Maybe not...
I usually use FF - 3.6.13 - although my default is IE8. I tried to open Google in IE earlier and the bar across the top said that it had blocked "cross-site scripting" - this is the result:

    Akamai NetSessions Removal:

The simplest and preferred method of removing NetSession interface is to use the Add or Remove Programs application.
    1. In the Windows Control Panel, run Add or Remove Programs.
    2. Select Akamai NetSession Interface
    3. Click Change/Remove, then click Yes to confirm your choice.

    Clients using Firefox:
Make sure they don't have the add-on FoxTorrent, which uses the RedSwoosh P2P client.

Remove the RedSwoosh EDN Client manually:

    Also, flush your DNS cache:

Open an elevated command prompt (run as Administrator)
    enter ipconfig /flushdns press 'enter'

It looks like there may be a problem with resolving the DNS ... scroll down in the log and look at the items listed under: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
