sure looks like one of your extensions doesn't play nice with the others.
Did you deliberately install this "Invisible hand" or did it just show up one day?

Anyhow you need to find out, which application causes this one to time out
I would do it this way:
Go into your Tools/Add Ons count them and then set the first half of them to disabled, restart Firefox and see if it's better now.
If not, disable half of what's left, restart FF and check again
repeat that process until you have found the culprit (and then check if there's a newer version/bugfix out)

In case the problem is gone after the first try, the culprit must be in the disabled pack
So you switch over, enable half of the second half again, restart FF etc.etc.
    you get my drift.

Edit: toss out those "accellerators" not only do they rarely work as advertised...they might create the strain that bogs your FF down.

thanks sledge i did install invisible hand myself and it has saved me a fair bit of cash in the past so it will be a shame if it is the cause ,i have already uninstalled the unwanted addons about five of them and so far so good i have only disabled invisible hand at the moment so i shall continue to test then re-instate it and see if there are any more issues ,heres hoping that it is ok , i should add that this find of unwanted adons was on my desktop and the laptop is freezing worse so i shall set it up and check what adons are in there that i havent personally installed and se what happens , .fingers crossed
EDIT: well i can say that google is responding much faster now check the time...

Those times are just the times, the google database takes to process your query.
That has nothing to do with your computer or your browser.

If it's really that invisible hand plugin, you could always set up a portable Firefox (which will not mess with your regular settings) with just that one plugin and use that one whenever you look to buy anything

    Good Luck

boohbah, scan with Malwarebytes just to make sure you don't have any 'adware/spyware' that might have come bundled with the adons

thanks jaycee ,i did last night ,(i learned a lesson in updating malwarebites before scanning the hard way) first scan showed nothing ,updated ,was 27 days outdated and it found pup.daealio i removed it but no change . im currently on the laptop and i have less adons so there were no adons i hadn't installed myself ,however experimenting with the invisible hand adon i disabled it played about in google and no freeze, i enabled it and the second page it froze i uninstalled firefox and started again , instant freeze, disabled invisible hand and googling away like a madman so i think it may possibly be invisible hand ,i see it was updated december last year ,so i would have thought i would have noticed it before, although firefox may have updated since then i can't recall the last date of firefox update, i'll go google that!
    edit: dec 9
