cannot delete a sent message in win7pro that would not send

I use Windows 4 Pro. I started with Windows Live Mail, then at the suggestion of Microsoft I went to Windows Live Mail 2011 Essentials, big mistake. When I removed the essentials it took the standard Windows Live Mail with it, lost address book and all. Downloaded the standard Windows Live mail from Microsoft, re-set all my address book over a couple of weeks.

    My Problem:

I sent an email message with a size of 8MB's to an AOL address it was apparently rejected by AOL but I did not get the normal email notification that it was not accepted it just keeps trying to send the message every time I access Windows Live Mail, then when I shut down mail I allways get a message tha I have mail to send yes or no. There are NO draft messages in any of my email addresses, I have four of them. I cannot delete the message within Windows 7 Pro or in the Live Mail program.

    Any Ideas?

    Hello, Just Married, and welcome

I haven't used WLM for quite some time, but presumably, there is an 'Outbox'.
Did you check the 'Outbox' in WLM to delete the message from there?

If possible, log in at the website for the offending account. Is the file there? If yes, manage it accordingly.

Else, from your preferred mail app, archive all of your messages from the offending account. Delete the account. Re-create the account and import the archived messages.

Windows 7 Pro has the following associated with each email address that I monitor for received and sent emails:

    INBOX
    DRAFTS
    SENT ITEMS
    JUNK MAIL
    DELETED ITEMS

Regarding my problem, nothing is listed in the DRAFTS folder. The sent item does not have an entry relating to the message that I cannot delete.

The thread here indicates that there is an outbox in WLM, but is buried near the bottom of the list. As I mentioned previously, I don't have much experience with WLM, but with WM, when a message can't be sent for whatever reason, it sits in the outbox and tries to send itself with each start of the program or whenever it does a Send/Receive. Hopefully, that's your problem, as then you can just delete ot from the Outbox and be done with it. The referenced thread was authored in May 2010, but I wouldn't think that 2011 was that different.
