LOL - Welcome to the trough
Anyways hope you're enjoying the RC candidate, I am :)[/QUOTE]
Could not resist temptation .......hehehe ....
Love it ..
f12 sounds easy enough - it is just the rendering engine i'm interested in, to test out homemade webpages...
...i'll have to look into this as well - thanks for the tip. however, that version looks old, released sep 2009 - will it work with ie's 8 and 9?
i've had a quick look and a newer version only seem to be available as part of the paid-for expression suite.
i'll try downloading the trial, and see if superpreview is a stand-alone prog that won't time out...i also wonder if it's ie9 ready...
Am testing the RC as I type this.
I installed the x64 flavour (the installer would not allow me to install the 32 bit version).
It upgraded seamlessly, even loaded my x86 toolbars/add-ons properly.
Someone in another thread stated they couldn't listen to Youtube videos with this RC. I tested this myself and it worked perfectly.
Everything seems to be functioning as it should (thus far - knock on wood).
Source: IE9 RC Performance Superior to IE9 Beta, to All Rival Browsers - Softpediauring the evolution from Beta to Release Candidate Microsoft introduced in excess of 2,000 changes designed to improve browser performance.
In a phone conversation we’ve had yesterday, Rob Mauceri, Group Program Manager of IE, and Ryan Gavin, Senior Director of IE underlined that the work done to boost performance in Internet Explorer 9 was focused on real world customer scenarios, and not on besting rivals in any specific benchmark.
Assuring me that the performance team for IE9 never sleeps, Rob and Ryan emphasized that Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate comes with improvements spanning over 11 browser subsystems.
“Internet Explorer 9 RC starts faster, loads webpages faster, and allows you to interact with web pages faster than ever before,” the software giant revealed.
At the same time, the work poured into improving overall performance for IE9 gets a tangible feel when measured with tools such as the WebKit SunSpider Benchmark.
According to Microsoft, thanks to its JS engine Chakra, IE9 RC is now the fastest browser in the JavaScript SunSpider Benchmark.
