forgive me for not reading the whole thread, but is there a way to install this alongside ie8?

without having to resort to a virtual machine?

John looking at your ID in the picture it appears different to mine, would it be because of the version I've installed, 32 bit, and yours is 64 bit ?
    ~~removed screen~~
    Hi Joan,

the part of product ID showing on your screen is also part of product ID your version of Windows available after pressing WIN+Pause. And this is why it's different.
It's always better to not show them (I've removed your screen in my quoting of your post).

    Hello Angelo,

Sorry, but the IE9 RC will replace IE8 after restarting the computer when the installation is complete.

Installed the IE9 RC that was released today, February 10, 2011. Lightning fast but flashplayer won't work. Keeps telling you that you need the latest version which I already have (10.2.152.26). Uninstalled, reinstalled, downloaded the .exe file to the hard drive and tried to install. Nothing will work.

Tried the adobe help forum and can't even get connected. I am sure they are getting swamped with people trying to get the flashplayer working. I confirmed the problem by installing IE9 on my netbook with the same results. Anybody receiving information on a fix please post.

No. I you're looking for ie8 rendering you can press F12, and then change the browser mode. If you're looking for ie8 though, you need a VM.
