    Cannot Add or Edit WLM contacts {SOLVED}

Since yesterday, i havent been able to add or edit ant contacts in Windows Live Mail.
I had a message that said: "Your contacts are temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." when i try t add a contact from an E-Mail that i have recieved.

If i try to edit a contact, i type in all the corrected info, hit save, and it just dissapears. Then i go back to that contact, adn all the info is back to what it was before i tryed to edit it.

If i try to save a new contact, i type in all the info, hit save, and it disapears adn takes you to where it should now show up in my contacts list. But, its not there.

I have noticed that at the top of the contacts screen that there is a "Manage" drop down menu that allows you the option to "Clean Up Contacts".
If i select that, the contacts that i have entered manually several times are all there several times. So, i choose to allow it to consolidate these by hitting the "Save" button and they all dissapear. When i check in contacts, it is not there.

What can be done about this?

I'm assuming your referring to the 2011 version. Try uninstalling WL and installing it again.

I uninstalled Windows Live Essentials. Had No Effect, and i still have Windows live Mail after uninstalling that.
How do you uninstall Windows Live?
I dont see it in the Uninstall panel.
Yes, i have the 2011 Version.
I optimized my IE8 browser with no effect, also.

I reinstalled Windows Live Essentials, it had no effect on the problem.
The strange thing is that Windows Hotmail was still in my task bar, and it looked to me like WLM was still active cause i could still open up the contacts in WLM and try to add a new contact even after i uninstalled Windows Live Essentials.

So, did i uninstall Windows Live mail or not?

For clarification; which email client are you using. WLM or WLE (2011)? Do you still have the old copy of WLE (pre 2011) on your computer? Is the OS you're running now an upgrade or clean install? There was a version of an email client in Vista called WLM or WM. If you upgraded your OS it would still be there and hence, showing both emial clients. If a clean install there will be no email client, you have to get one. I would uninstall every email client related to windows again and reboot, then check to make sure they are completely gone. Then download Windows live essintials again, personally I use Outlook from Office 2010. I do have WLE 2011 and use it from time to time.

This is on a new PC built in Feb of last year.
I installed win7 on it at that time. I cant remember what i installed, but i think it was WLE.
I have WLE installed. So, i think thats where i got Windows Live from.
The weird thing is that when i uninstalled WLE using the "Uninstall" feature in the Control Panel, I still had Windows Live Hotmail.
I couldnt send PDF files from a folder to an Email recipiant until i reinstalled WLE though.

Windows Live Mail is part of the Live Essentials 2011, so if you uninstalled Essentials, you shouldn't still be showing WLM. It does appear in the control panel Programs applet to be removed. If not, you may have a corrupt install or uninstall. You could always try reinstalling overtop of itself, as if you were doing a repair install.

That was the weird thing. I did uninstall Live Essentials. After uninstalling it, my E-Mail still showed up. In the top left corner it said "Windows Live" and "Hotmail" just below that.
When i try to reinstall, it just says that you already have it installed.
So, are we looking at a hard drive reformat just to get Windows live Essentials out of my computer just so i can Reinstall it?
That would be Extremely irritating and time consuming just to find out if that fixes the problem of not being able to add or update E-Mail contacts.

Sounds to me like were just left with swinging an axe in the dark just to see whats out there.

What about retrying the uninstall, and then using something like Revo Uninstaller to completely clear it out?
