Thanks for all the replies

I have just again tried ebay and still the same problem - as soon is i start to write crucial c300 in the search box it crashes and restarts - unless in compatability mode

I have tried a clean install of IE9, restore all setting inc advanced ones and run ie without addons but still getting the same

Will crawl the net so see what other sites do it

The fact that other people can access it seems to me that i have another issue...poss software conflict. Time to do some diggin. PS Below is the link to what i see when trying ebay

res://ieframe.dll/acr_error.htm#ebay.co.uk

you need to enable the command bar by right clicking somewhere between the tabs and home icon, click command bar, then go to tools and it should be there in the middle of the menu

I am having a problem with Gmail. Take a look at the pic. See the small font? Can't be fixed - at least in Rich Formatting mode.

Edit: But Gmail works (at least in so far as the font size problem is concerned) in Compatibility mode though the site does get a bit distorted.

This has really baffled me - i used IE9 x64 beta without any issues, but swithching to RC causes so many websites to crash. It crashes without any addons, removed flash and silverlight, no joy, yet it works perfectly in Safe Mode so im thinking maybe its a driver issue

If so, the only driver i think it could be is the GPU (I have nvidia GT 435M) - does anyone know much about IE GPU rendering and if it can cause issues??

All help much appreciated

Hi everyone,
I was having the same problems with IE9 RC. Seemed much flakier than the beta, frequent error pages, especially with gmail, ebay, yahoo stock ticker - but many others.
I've fixed mine now and have a stable IE9 RC. Hasn't crashed since the fix. The fix is weird though and I can't see the causal relationship...
I had overclocked my PC. Not by much (it's intel 6600 quad core - I OC'd from 2.4GHz to 2.71GHz). Had no problems with it at all, all apps working fine, no blue screens, temperatures all OK etc etc. However, since I've downclocked back to 2.4GHz the IE9 RC crash problem has completely vanished.
Now...if the overclocking was a problem - surely I'd have problems with all apps, not just IE? FireFox 3.6 worked fine, as did the IE9 betas. However, I haven't changed anything else on my PC so...?
