    IE 9 Ruined my PC

I D/L the new IE9, however, it was taking a very long time to install, then I got a failed to install message, and it left a link to MS support page.
Since I tried to install it my PC was taking a very long time to shut down. I decided to do a system restore, well all I got was a black screen and the cursor, I tried to reboot in safe mode same thing a black screen.
Luckily I had a Windows recovery Disk, I did a system restore, still a black screen, I did a start up recovery and that said there was no problem. I rebooted and hey presto!! my Pc was back to normal.
Why would IE9 cause this problem?
    Will it happen again?

I hve no ideal what happened to your system while trying to install IE9, but I can assure you there aren't reports if this happening. I honestly think something else was going on with your system when said problem happened. Try downloading the software again through a legit download site and install.

Since you're running a 64-bit version of Window 7 you need to get the 64-bit download version of Internet Explorer.

    I tried that, same problem.
It took about 12 minutes to show the "did not finish installing" message.

Do you have all the Windows 7 critical/important updates installed?

Also, where did you get your copy of 7 from?

    Thanks
