Enabling automatic log in to web sites

New computer with Windows 7 won't let me use Firefox auto log in to other sites, Firefox is remembering the log in charactors but in order to log into the various sites I must manually log in to the sites, seems something in Win 7 is doing this but not sure what.

Running Win. 7 Home Premium addition on new Toshiba Protege R705. Also have the same problem on a new i7 powered machine with same operating system. When you go to a site where you previously told Firefox to remember the pass word you can't get in till you resign in. Firefox is remembering the pass words which you can confirm in one of their drop downs but it seems that Win 7 won't let the auto log in work for some reason. I know 2 other friends that are having the same problem.
