    IE 7 won't load MS.com page

I have an (older) internet pen pal with dialup. She runs IE 7 on a Win 7 Home Premium system. (OIK...I'll send her an IE 8 CD)

Meantime, there are certain pages she just can't open - for instance:

Learn where menu and toolbar commands are in Office 2010 and related products - Support - Microsoft Office

She can't tell me any reason - like error messages - only that they won't display. (She's not very tech savvy)

I was assuming that it would not be security setting, being an MS page and all, but I don't know enough about this stuff.

    Anyone else know?

    thanks!

IE8 comes automatically with Windows 7, unless she bought the OS recently in Europe, where this is forbidden by European Union. Nevertheless, I fail to see why she would use IE7...
If she really uses Win7, and really wants to use IE, point her towards BeautyOfTheWeb so she can download Ie9 RC.

She told me she had IE7 when I told her how to check...(I thought Win 7 came with IE8, as well)

Either way, she has very slow dial-up. No chance of downloading much of anything.

I just didn't know which add-on, pop-up, string thing, etc was on that page that would block her MSIE. I never use it.

I had this strange problem myself once...only certain sites appeared to be blocked, Microsoft's included. I believe the problem went away after I rebooted the router. But she doesn't have a router, only a modem. She could try rebooting what she has, try on a different day, or try a different dial-up phone number or service.

Thanks. I already told her to put the sites in the trusted list, and that didn't help.

Actually, I had the same issue the other day, and I get great speeds. Maybe the sites are too busy.

This happens to me too, every once in awhile. When the page wont load for me, I just click the refresh button and doing that it opens the page.
