IE8 JumpList and Seven Forum icon

For whatever reason, Seven Forums icon on my IE8 jumplists have started showing the IE generic icon. Is there a way to fix this? I've cleared IE temp, rebuilt icon cache, Thumbnails and rebuilt search index. Any other ideas?

    Thanks

Happens to me all the time. Seems to happen only to urls, not shortcuts. One way to stabalize the icon is to create a shortcut to the program "Internet Explorer" i.e. "iexplore.exe" and in the target box add a space followed by the url. Use the "change icon" button to select an icon.

The jumplist seems to rely on the favicon being in IE temp files. For some reason, Seven Forums is not placing the favicon in the IE temp files.

    Where's the favicon?

Also now, I can't get the single page of a post button to work anymore. What's up with that

    Hello Greg,

See if deleting your IE temp files, browsing history, and cookies may be able to help. It may take a bit for the favicons to reload after visiting the sites though.

You struck a nerve when you mention History. I hadn't deleted the History but have now done it. It appears to still be the same. I did check in all the temp IE folders and notice that Seven Forums favicon is not getting placed in there for some reason.

Well they're back just like they disappeared, mysteriously. I've had MSE uninstalled for a few days. Decided to install Malwarebytes and after that, they are back. Only thing that's been done different in that time was my IE download location. Normally, the downloads go to the Downloads folder but after uninstalling MSE, I downloaded another AV to try. Instead of it downloading to the Downloads folder, I switched the location to an external HD. I have no idea if any of that is related but just sharing the info in case.
