    no underline---link

i installed the essentials pack...before i could send a link by email and it would underline the link so people could click the link and go to the site.
now it only puts the page with no underline so you would have to copy and paste.
    anyone know the fix....

You don't mention which version of Office you are using, but Outlook 2007 might be rectified as follows:
How do I RESTORE previous underlining of hyperlinks to internet UR

Go to Office button > Word Options > Proofing > AutoCorrect Options > AutoFormat
As You Type and check the box for "Internet and network paths with hyperlinks".
That will take care of converting any new addresses as you type them.

To convert addresses that are already in documents, check the same box on the
separate AutoFormat tab of the same dialog, and uncheck everything else to avoid
unwanted changes. After OKing the dialog, click Office button > Word Options >
Customize, choose the All Commands category, and add the AutoFormat Now command
to the Quick Access Toolbar. Click that button to apply the hyperlinks. (When
you're done updating existing documents, you can right-click the toolbar button
    and choose to remove it.)

no no no from internet page of dropdowns when u go to send link by e-mail it is supposed to bring up an email with the link to the page. so all the person has to do is click it and it takes them to the page. since the essentials update this nolonger happens. u dont get a clickable link.

In another post someone said to hit enter after the link to make it clickable. Perhaps adding a space after the url would also work.

thank you i am aware of that and they both work. however sending a link and going through extra steps when there is no reason to is a big waste of time. ive been sending links for years and it was a matter of 2 clicks and now because some goof ball didnt do his job it makes life harder than it should be. i am so angry that people are allowed to screw up something that has worked great all these years....

You may be angry, but it will not solve your problem venting your anger here.

Perhaps a little more clarity of information would help us to help you:
    - which browser are you using?
    - You refer to installing the "essentials pack" : Do you mean Windows Live Essentials?
    - Are you using Windows Live Mail?
Another possibility - Has the update changed the default email setting?:
Change which programs Windows uses by default

Yes, all things considered, I think he means Windows Live Essentials. This issue has been happening to me as well, and it seemed account related rather than preference related, which is weird.

I would use one account in Messenger or Mail and this issue would occur, then I would log in with another account and everything would work just fine.
This, however, stopped when I updated to v2011, though, but still I am curious about what could cause this.
