    Can't see IE9

This is strange. I downloaded IE9. When it runs the content area is white but if I move my mouse pointer around it I can see the mouse cursor change over a link or text box. It is as if the content is there but all invisible. Tried to un-install it to go back to IE8. No un-install.

    Any Ideas

When in "Programs and Features" click "View installed updates" and it should show up in the list. Once you find it you can uninstall it from there. Then try installing it again if you wish.

Download it again in case your original file is corrupted and try installing it again.

    Downloaded

Setup can't continue because a more recent version of internet explorer is installed on your computer.

Try using system restore to go back to before you installed it.

EDIT: > If you go here you should be able to download the full stand alone installer.

The one you linked to is, I believe, the web installer version. It just starts the installation and IE is actually downloaded and installed from the internet while your installing it. The one I linked to above contains all the files needed to install it from your PC without downloading anything else from the Internet. In my opinion it has better odds of success.

No that has not worked. I had to reboot and windows went through an installation stage
I ended up with blank white content area with page Hotmail, Messenger, Free Online News, Sport, Music, Movies, Money and Cars from MSN UK

Moving my mouse over the middle it changes to a pointer with link reveled on bottom
    Champions League quarter-final draw

    It is acting very problematic

Is this a fresh install of Windows 7? Have you installed the latest chip-set and graphics card drivers? You might try going to tools > Internet options > and under the advanced tab check the box for "use software rendering..."
